Other sites, especially social networking sites, include lots of extraneous information that you don't need to conduct your job. The Capitol Crowd only allows its members to submit information that's relevant to working at the Capitol. We collect contact information, one photo, titles, educational background, committee assignments, email addresses, and previous job information. Additionally, no one will ask to be your "friend" or ask to "link" to you or anyone you know. close
Creating a shared database took time, money, and many hours of creative thought and labor. It's a service for everyone in the Capitol community that we feel is well worth the $49.99 annual fee. close
Tell others in the Capitol Crowd about yourself - where you work now, how you can be contacted, and where/who you worked for previously. Elected officials have biographical information available on many websites, but the Capitol Crowd is the only website that collects career information on legislative and agency staff, as well as registered lobbyists. Go ahead, this is your opportunity to brag.
Search the entire Capitol Crowd database in ways that will help you with your job. Search capabilities include: by a person's first or last name; by a person's job title; or by a person's committee assignments. So if they're registered, you can find all of the Chiefs of Staff in the Senate, all the Committee Clerks in the House, or just a guy named Joe you met at a reception. And you can see a photo of them.
Save your favorite search results, such as members of certain committees or certain political parties. You can also save the names of legislative staff who are assigned to certain committees, or those who work for certain lawmakers. From the inside looking out, lawmakers and legislative staff can save the names of lobbyists and state agency employees who are following certain committees.
Download a current legislative staff list near the beginning of each legislative session.
Update your information when you get new job, job title, or change any other information.
Order other Capitol Crowd products like the mini-legislative staff directory, t-shirts, and mugs.
Enjoy an aggregated Twitter feed of lawmakers, lobbyists, and legislative/agency staff who opt-in to providing their "tweets" to the members-only section of the website. Other websites aggregate Twitter feeds of elected officials only.
The website was re-designed in 2011 with the needs of mobile phone users in mind. When you access the Capitol Crowd on your mobile phone, the website automatically adjusts itself for your screen. close
